A great day out at SVYF! Challenging course and the catering was as good as ever. Congratulations to Lesley and Rachel for their medals. Was really nice to see everyone out at open shoots again!
A fantastic day shooting at Briar Rose Field Archers at their first competition on their new ground, lovely course! 6 WWA archers went (some for their first competition) and managed to dodge the rain (mostly). Well done to Mark Jenkins for getting silver in Barebow and Pete Bullock for winning the gold in Compound Limited.
Sunday 18th July hosted the clubs first archery taster sessions in over a year! This day was held to give prospective new members the opportunity to have a go under the supervision of our coaches before deciding if they would like to do a beginners course. The day was highly successful, with a large number of participants signing up for beginner courses. Hopefully this will produce some new members for the club!!
With the weather getting warmer and Covid restrictions being eased, it’s starting to feel a bit more normal down at the club! After several periods of closure over the last 15 months, it’s great to see the woods getting busier again, and to welcome new members that have joined us during the lockdown period. With local competitions now starting up again, we hope to resume sharing event news and shoot reports here again over the summer!
